How To Apply

The Christine A. Geehrer Inspiration in Medicine Award (CAGIM) will provide a grant of $26,200 each year to one deserving individual enrolled in the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. The award will be available for tuition, books and materials.

Our greatest (and most fun!) job is to select the one special candidate who has the ability to share a wisdom from past struggles, hardship or loss and translate this knowledge by becoming a well-rounded and responsive doctor!

Eligibility: The individual selected for a grant each year must demonstrate financial need and be selected by a majority of the CAGIM Board of Directors. Individuals will be selected based on demonstrating an extraordinary passion for running, an uncommon zeal for adventure, and an unusual attraction for challenges. These attributes will be judged based on an applicant’s participation in challenging projects or programs such as athletic events, civic causes, professional endeavors or overcoming extraordinary family or personal challenges. The individual selected must be enrolled or accepted into USCF medical school and committed to attaining a degree to practice in the field of medicine. Students who compete successfully for the CAGIM award must have a satisfactory academic record — but the primary purpose of the scholarship is to recognize and help underwrite a student’s commitment to the broader community.
